About me….
I believe that we all heal when we feel valued and accepted as we are. With this in mind, I create a space for you where you can feel truly seen and cared for, without judgement.
I am a Level 7 Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with a MA (Distinction) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of the West of England. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their Ethical Framework, so you are assured of the safest, most professional service. I am also a Graduate member of the British Psychological Society.
I aim to incorporate a rigorous awareness of power, privilege, and how social and political structures impact us into all my work.
In addition to my private work, I’ve worked as a psychotherapist for Bristol Mind - the mental health charity - where I have provided specialist counselling for LGBTQ+ clients, and helped establish a Neurodiversity Counselling service.
My career originally began as a play therapist, and I’ve been working with families of neurodivergent children since 2006. It has been a joy to be part of the process of families moving towards deeper understanding and ease.
In this role, I run a separate organisation called Autism Optimism International and I’ve had the privilege of lecturing and providing training about neuroaffirmative practice throughout Europe, the USA, Asia, and Australia.
I’m passionate both about how our past experiences and relationships impact us, and about how our bodies and sensory systems affect our emotional wellbeing. My approach focuses on helping you reconnect with your body, understand its messages and emotions, creating a deeper sense of safety within yourself, at the same time as helping you to understand your unique story.
I believe that true growth happens when we approach the whole person with care — mind and body — and I’m here to walk alongside you on that journey.
